Mintse 384 Sport (Leffert Preferent x Lammert)

The Friesian Connection purchased and imported Mintse 384 Sport in 2007. Licensed by the FPS as a breeding stallion, Mintse is fully approved on offspring and will never lose his breeding privileges. Mintse is a son of the preferent stallion Leffert 306 and the star mare Jieldou (Lammert) and was born in 1996.

Mintse has the Sport predicate behind his name. The sport predicate is earned when the horse has proven himself as a superior horse in competition. Not only must the horse achieve a high level in sport but he must also win at a high level consistently. Mintse has earned this predicate in dressage, competing and winning at Z2 dressage in the Netherlands. Mintse has also been the winner of the Silver Whip, a special award given for success in the dressage arena. In the Netherlands Mintse was very successful as a show driving horse, wowing both the judges and the audience with his amazing trot.

Mintse is the highest rated stallion in North America for improving the trot on his offspring. The FPS (Dutch registry) gives a score to evaluate the stallion's influence on many factors. A score of 100 is neutral...meaning the stallion did not influence the offspring in either a positive or negative way in a specific area. Mintse's score on the trot of his offspring is 106. (FPS breeding index 2007)

Mintse is the highest rated stallion in North America on "Sportability" of offspring. Mintse's offspring have been rated at their ability to do well in sport and there is not another Friesian stallion in North America who scores higher than Mintse at having offspring that have the potential to be top quality sport horses. (FPS breeding index)

Mintse is:

  • From stam 25.
  • 16.1 hands tall.
  • The 2005 FPS World Champion stallion.
  • The stallion with the best trot (FPS jury, 2007 Hengstekeuring).
  • A winner of the Silver Whip.
  • Multiple time winner of the "Zilveren Klomp", an award given to the crowd favorite as the horse with the best trot.
  • A luxurious, modern built Friesian with an impressive trot.

Mintse's offspring have beautiful heads, well developed necks, good conformation and demonstrate the same impressive movement as their sire.

Mintse's stud fee is $2000. Fresh, cooled and frozen semen is available. We expect Mintse to be in high demand. Each day's orders for semen will be prioritized in the order the paid contracts are received. We will be collecting Mintse 5 days a week (Monday - Friday). Collection time is usually at 7:30 pm (EST). Most customers receive their semen within 16 hours of collection. Mintse is available to Friesian mares only.

Ouke 313 (Hearke Preferent x Romke)

In January of 1998 we imported the Friesian Stallion Ouke 313. A son of the famous stallion Hearke Preferent and Erna, a Star Preferent mare from the stallion Romke, Ouke brings a new dimension to our operation. His pedigree contains a very high percentage of Preferent blood. The Preferent status is given to a mare when she has produced four or more star offspring. It is given to a stallion after he produces a significant number of approved for breeding sons and star and model daughters. It is a symbol of reproducing top quality offspring.

Ouke has 21 Preferents listed in five generations of his pedigree. He has more Preferent blood in his pedigree than any other breeding stallion in North America and tied for the top of all breeding stallions in the FPS. He is the high preferent choice.

Ouke himself is a beautiful stallion with a proud look. He has a striking front with a beautiful neck. He has very powerful hindquarters and it shows in his movement. At the trot he extends with "hang time." He truly floats across the ground. He is a true black Friesian with a sweet disposition. He has a heavy amout of feathers and an average amount of mane and tail. He has a lot of presence and is the image of power.

  • Stam 44, a stam distinguished with a high precentage of star and model mares.
  • High preferent pedigree, 21 preferents in 5 generations.
  • Fully approved breeding stallion by the FPS in The Netherlands.
  • Offspring are noted to be well devloped and all uniform in type.
  • Offspring have an excellent appearance and a beautiful topline.
  • Offspring's trot is strong and beautiful, they have an excellent use of their hindlegs.

Ouke stamps his get!

Stud fee for Ouke is $1000 Natural cover only. Available to purebred Friesian horses only.

Hunter (Fell Pony) - Sire: Sledale Eddie

In 2006 we added the Fell pony stallion Hunter to our stallion station. Hunter was imported from the Netherlands where he was born in 2003. The Fell pony originates from the Fells of England. While other colors are allowed, Fells are typically black with lots of mane and feathering. Hunter is jet black with no markings, tons of mane and forelock, lots of feathering and a fancy trot. He stands 13.2 hands tall. Hunter is licensed for breeding by the Fell Pony Society and is available to Fell pony mares as well as for crossbreeding to other pony breeds and small horses. His stud fee is $500.
